Attendance of Professional Orchestral Rehearsals

The committee seeks to provide members of the orchestra with opportunities to observe professional musicians at work.  Most recently, in preparation for its forthcoming performance of the Elgar Cello Concerto in May 2007, members of the orchestra attended a rehearsal by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic in the Sheffield City Hall on Saturday 27th January 2007, conducted by Libor Pesek.  This was an insightful occasion to see a professional orchestra at work; Endcliffe members were particularly interested to see the interaction between conductor and players.
